We are extending this exclusive and esteemed invitation for you to be a part of an exciting event: A FESTIVAL & GARDEN PARTY, on August 3, 2026, with an opportunity for LAPPING to theVIP De Sheriff Street Bar or buss a LYME by the GT (Georgetown) Seawall Bandstand Bar, we are at the beautiful Holiday Gardens Slovenian Country Club, 3315 Sideline 4, Pickering, Ontario, Canada. Las’ Lap Lyme Festival & Garden Party was launched in 2024 to create a premier Guyanese and Caribbean cultural experience in Ontario. Inspired by garden parties that have historically been and continue to be popular in the Caribbean,  particularly as a reflection of British colonial influence the legacy of these events is still relevant today. Come be a part of this exclusive & amazing event which coincides with the Toronto Caribbean Carnival weekend and Guyana’s 60th Independence Anniversary Year, offering a unique opportunity to honor Guyanese and Caribbean heritage on the international stage.

We have chosen Guyana to be our “first runner celebrated island” simply because, one, it is becoming the fastest-growing economy in the world and is celebrating its 60th year of Independence, and two, mainly because of our philanthropic and community visions as detailed below. We encourage you to go Visit GUYANA during the Month of May to celebrate their 60th Independence, most celebrations starts from around May 20-28, 2026, enjoy some of the amazing historical sites below.

Benab (Umana Yana)

The Umana Yana (oo-man-a yan-na) is a conical, palm-thatched benab built in 1972 for the Non-Aligned Foreign Ministers Conference. Designed by Guyanese architect George Henry, it stands on the former Mariners’ Club site on High Street, Kingston, Georgetown. The name is a Wai Wai term for large communal meeting benabs.

Thank you for choosing this experience. Enjoy an immersive cultural tribute to Guyana’s Indigenous heritage, with earth tones and authentic First Nation decor. Ode to Mother Earth.

In the heart of Georgetown, Stabroek Market is the country’s largest market and a lively hub for shopping and socializing. Established in 1881, it’s known for its iron-and-steel Victorian-style design and iconic clock tower. Come for the vibrant stalls and diverse goods, then link up with a “banna” or “binnie,” or simply lime by de market. The market is currently being renovated by the government to restore its former glory.

Georgetown Lighthouse

The Georgetown Lighthouse was first built by the Dutch in 1817, then rebuilt in 1830 to help guide ships from the Atlantic Ocean into the Demerara River. The 31 m (103 ft) octagonal structure is a well-known landmark in Georgetown, Guyana, recognized for its distinctive vertical red-and-white stripes.

Parika Ferry Stelling

Parika Ferry Stelling is a busy transport hub on the East Bank of Essequibo, often called the “West Coast.” It’s a lively gateway to Guyana’s interior and river life, where locals cross the Essequibo River and the stelling buzzes with a newly renovated market, local snacks and crafts, and plenty of fresh seafood.

Hop on a speedboat or the Canawaima Ferry Service and explore the coast’s 365 islands, including Bartica, Hog Island, Leguan, the East Indian Settlement Monument, or plan a picnic, swim day, or weekend getaway at Lake Mainstay Resort.

The Berbice Bridge is a pontoon bridge over the Berbice River near New Amsterdam in Guyana. The bridge is tolled and was opened on 23 December 2008. Designed by American firm Raymond and Harris Corporation of New York, the bridge has a width of 10 metres (33 feet), a length of 527.9 metres (1,732 feet) and height of 12.1 metres (40 feet).

Canjie Bridge Berbice

This monument honors the 1763 Berbice slave rebellion, a key moment in Guyana’s fight for freedom. Located at the Square of the Revolution, it is dedicated to Cuffy, an Akan man enslaved under the Dutch who led an uprising of about 5,000 people. His defiant stance. Broken chain in one hand, machete in the other. Symbolizes the fight to break the bonds of slavery.

This hydro-powered sawmill was needed to improve the production of logs and reduce the cost associated with it. The waterwheel is regarded as one of the first engineering structures to be built in the town of Linden. Water wheels have played significant roles in agricultural and industrial applications, such as grinding grain,sawing wood and generating electricity.

MUSEUM The museum is located in Bob Marley’s old residence 55 Hope Road Kingston Jamaica, where he lived and worked. The house was purchased by Marley in 1975 and later converted into a museum by his wife, Rita Marley, after his death. Inside, you’ll find memorabilia like his personal belongings, awards, studio equipment (including his Tuff Gong recording studio)

We have established a commitment to our philanthropic and community partners and our strategic approach for our event pricing is to ensure we fulfill these commitments and others.

Notwithstanding we are open to working with any of our VIP Canopy purchasers to customize a menu and beverage package that will be amicable to everyone for the same tier price of $1,500. Our regular admission price of $20 Adv will also bring many exciting interactions and enjoyment. Toronto SickKids Caribbean

Our philanthropic efforts will be centered around the SickKids Caribbean Initiative, which currently serves the following countries: the Bahamas, Barbados, Jamaica, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and Trinidad and Tobago. We are showcasing Guyana at the Las’Lap Festival & Garden Party in order to position Guyana to become one of the Caribbean Countries in this initiative.

Our Community Initiative, we are sponsoring a youth Cricket Summer camp, ages 10-12 in collaboration with Pickering Cricket Club, the youths will be honoured at our event on Aug 3, We are excited to confirm that Sir Clive Lloyd, former West Indies Cricket Captain will be our Ambassador for this Camp Initiative, and has indicated that he will be at the Festival to present certificates to the kids.
